A Path to unlock Sector 3

You've made it to Sector 2, what can you do now? Get ready to unlock Sector 3!

Just like the Path to Sector 2, there are some basic strategies that can help you get to Sector 3 with the playstyle you prefer. As you read through our Path to Sector 3 guide, you'll learn some of the strategies that can help to unlock S3 as efficiently as possible.

Squad Configuration

If you followed the beginners guide to sector 2, you already have a good idea of what your squad list should look like. Opening Sector 2 will give you access to a new forest and stone deposit of 150k each (regenerates at a rate of 1500/hr) and a new set of buildings that can be built in S2. To start, build your Foreman House; you now have access to 6 additional squads. You can now build two more houses in S2 and gain access to 3 more squads per house. Your max squad count should be 28 now. Here is an idea of what squad configurations could look like on your journey to S3:

Strategy & Upgrades

The basic strategy for unlocking s3 is the same as it was for s2, focus on producing and buying building materials to level up your buildings as quickly as possible. You don't need to produce many food items, so use your squad allocation for those that will help upgrade. Lumberjacks and miners will be your best friends still. With the added squads, food will become an issue. Hire more hunters to help feed your squads and also ensure that you have enough to sell and stack your gold. Hunters are also good squads to help fight against raids because of their ranged attacks, so having several is very beneficial. Militia will help keep your meat supplies (as well as stone and rock) pumping so there should be plenty to sell AND debone for food.

After building your new FH and houses, you should work on leveling up your houses, lumbermill, stone mine and hunter's lodge in S1, if you haven't already, to lvl 5; this will give you access to an additional rest/work spot in each building, as well as one new squad per house. You should be at 31 squads after leveling up all s1 houses. N ow, with 31 squads, you can hire more depending on your individual needs. If you find that you struggle with battles or meat production, hunters and militia are good hires, if you are having trouble with keeping squads fed, an additional cook could help turn wheat and grain into food efficiently.

Sector 2

Upgrading your FH in sector 2 is much more expensive than sector 1, so the size of your warehouses will have to grow even further to complete the upgrades to your FH that are needed to unlock s3. You will also need much more food (10,000 total) to unlock s3, so your granaries will also need to increase in level as well.

You will need a lot of resources to open S3, one of which is gold. Make sure that you are collecting enough meat and wheat to sell in the marketplace and fill your gold reserves. You will also be using your gold to purchase upgrade resources and speed up the process. Whenever you have the opportunity, it can be very helpful to buy full stacks of wood/stone/planks/bricks when they are selling at 8-10g per bundle.
